Façade Renewal at Gallery 121 - Finished!

Gallery 121 member artist Mary-Lou Ashton has been exhibiting her "Paparazzi" techniques with her camera, and caught many photos of the process of the refurbishing of the gallery's façade.  Here's her photo-essay.

Group of figures laid out for painting.

More figures. One fellow has new legs. And there's even a group paintbrush.

Another group laid out for painting.

A few figures are up.

Moving Along.

The last figure has been reinstalled.

Just a little clean-up, and we're done!
We look forward to having everyone visit us at the newly refurbished Gallery 121, 48 Bridge St. E, Belleville, Ontario.

Gallery 121 Art Quilter, Ann Fales

Gallery121 member artist Ann Fales recently displayed her beautifully designed and crafted quilts at the Quinte Quilters' Guild Show and Sale in Belleville. The Guild's challenge throughout the past year consisted of the presentation of a new quilt block design at every meeting. The design was interpreted in an individual way by each quilter, and then each artist assembled all the blocks into a larger quilt.  The variety of styles and interpretations were amazing - a joyous, colourful collection of fine quilts.  Below is Ann's stunning challenge quilt.

In Loving Memory of Tony Lassing

Gallery 121 artists, friends and family in the Quinte region and overseas, and the arts community mourn the passing of a dear friend, Tony Lassing.

"When you part from your friend, you grieve not;
For that which you love most in him may be clearer in
his absence, as the mountain to the climber is
clearer from the plain."
~Kahlil Gibran

"And let there be no purpose in friendship
save the deepening of the spirit."
~Kahlil Gibran

"And in the sweetness of friendship let there
be laughter, and sharing of pleasures.
For in the dew of little things the heart finds
its morning and is refreshed."
~Kahlil Gibran
